Anonymity is for protection—not permission to harm another person.
1. What Unsent Letters Wall Is For
This is a place to release words you never sent, reflect on your own experience, and read the honest writing of others. You may write about pain, grief, love, anger, regret, family, friendship, faith, loss, or recovery.
The wall is not a weapon. Do not use another person’s vulnerability, identity, private information, or past as a target.
2. What Is Not Allowed
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, targeted abuse, humiliation, or retaliation.
- Threats, encouragement of violence, credible plans to harm someone, or instructions that facilitate harm.
- Encouraging, instructing, glorifying, or pressuring another person to self-harm, attempt suicide, engage in disordered eating, or take dangerous actions.
- Doxxing or privacy violations, including addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, schools, usernames, private messages, medical information, intimate details, financial details, or other information that could identify or expose someone.
- Trying to identify an anonymous writer or the person described in a letter.
- Sexual exploitation, grooming, sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualizes a minor.
- Non-consensual intimate content, sexual harassment, coercion, or exploitation.
- Hate speech, slurs, dehumanization, or attacks based on a protected characteristic.
- Impersonation, fraud, scams, spam, malware, deceptive links, commercial solicitation, or unlawful conduct.
- Defamatory accusations presented as established fact, especially when the subject can be identified.
- Copyright infringement or posting content you do not own or have permission to share.
- Attempts to evade moderation, rate limits, suspensions, bans, or safety controls.
- Using bots, scripts, scraping tools, or automated systems without written permission.
3. Anonymous Posting
Anonymous posting hides your chosen identity from the public. It does not make harmful conduct acceptable, and it does not necessarily make you unidentifiable to the service operator. We may retain internal records needed to investigate reports, prevent abuse, enforce rules, protect users, maintain security, and comply with law.
4. Personal Details and Identifying Information
Write about your experience, but remove details that are not necessary to express it. Use first names, initials, roles, or general descriptions only when they do not make another person readily identifiable.
5. Emotional Safety and Crisis Situations
Unsent Letters Wall is not therapy, counseling, medical care, crisis intervention, or an emergency service. The site is not monitored continuously and must not be used to request urgent help.
If a submission presents a credible and immediate risk of harm, we may preserve relevant information, restrict access, remove content, contact emergency services, or make a report when reasonably necessary or legally required.
6. Reading Responsibly
Letters may discuss trauma, death, abuse, grief, betrayal, self-harm, addiction, sexuality, family conflict, or other painful subjects. Read with discretion. Do not diagnose, shame, contact, investigate, or retaliate against a writer or the person described.
7. Reports, Moderation, and Enforcement
Use the report feature for safety, privacy, copyright, harassment, or other serious concerns. We may reject or remove content, add warnings, limit visibility, restrict features, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or contact authorities.
8. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact contact@unsently.com with enough information to identify the submission and review the decision.
